We had the Octopi and the Creators come in to try and get our Superstars to vote for their political parties of Seabury!! Students REALLY enjoy having them in the classroom :)

This past week we had Tacoma Fire Safety, and Tacoma Power visiting in the classroom. The students brainstormed interview questions to ask each Community Expert.

During our collaborative time with the Sharks and Ladybugs we have been discussing different aspects of water. Here students are acting as Scientists and making predictions on four different water containers. One having just water, one with glitter/water, one with water/oil, and another with colored water. We asked students to use their five senses to describe what they were seeing, hearing, smelling, etc.

Over the last week the Superstars have been learning about the different American symbols. We have learned about the American Flag, Statue of Liberty, Liberty Bell, and the Bald Eagle so far!! They are loving this hands on activity and learning all about their country.

Here students are practicing the Pledge of Allegiance.

Nature walks, math and writing!

Inventive spelling is a big thing in the Superstars room. It shows us how well students know each letter sound as well as how much they can do one their own!

Monday we took a small nature walk around our community. We had students bring along their sketch books to sketch what they saw in nature!!! We saw berries, birds, a ton of leaves and pine cones.

Are they cute or what?!

Math continues to be very hands on. Here students are using Dominoes to practice writing addition number sentences.

Field Trip to Snake Lake. We practiced bird calls, and listening to their return answers.

Exploring our world is so much fun!

We had a VERY busy week! If you kiddos are coming home saying how tired they are, it is because we have them going non-stop in the classroom!! We have such a great group of students this year :)
