We have been very busy in the Superstars room over the last few weeks. We also have been having difficulty loading pictures to our blog so I apologize for not getting it done sooner.
The Superstars have been working hard at their creative writing. We have started doing writing centers in the morning. We give students objects to either paint, build, or draw a picture. Once the students have created their artwork they then are asked to write a creative story explaining what is happening in their artwork. This is a fun and creative way to get the students excited to write and to want to write more!
We got together with our Early Learning Team and did some Eric Carle textures paintings. Once the paintings dried, we then created illustrations for our story. We had some great outcomes of this project, and they look amazing!
We have also been working hard on our auction project. To prepare for our trip to the glass museum we did a Chihuly style art projects. Students colored different sized color cups and then we melted them down to create a beautiful chandelier for our classroom.
In honor of Earth day we participated in Earth Hour in the classroom on Wednesday. We kept the lights off in the room all day to conserve energy. The students created a "camp fire" and told stories!
We are so impressed with all of the Science Fair projects that came in. All the Superstars did an amazing job! Below is a little peak at a few of them.
